"Our restoration story is truly a God story. My name is Joan. Donny and I have been married for 37 years. Don came from a background of generational infidelity and coupled with careers that were predominantly male, where chasing women was encouraged. To make a long story short, for 30 years, there were various affairs. The last was with my former best friend and lasted 12 years. I didn't really know how bad it was, but I knew my marriage was not good. I knew there was cheating, but I never had proof. It was definitely God that kept me in the marriage. I got to the point where I thought I would never have a good marriage or be really loved by my husband. I loved God so much. I didn't want my husband to die and go to hell, so I prayed for his soul. When I prayed more for his soul than the marriage, things started to change. Five years ago, I found out the whole truth in one night. Everything I felt, I now had proof. To say I was devastated is such an understatement. But God! Honestly, I had literally prayed for 30 years and honored the commitment I made to God when we married. My husband (with God and counseling) repented, is remorseful, and is a Godly man. Don is the husband I prayed for. I really have the marriage of my prayers. I remember reading two verses: Joel 2:25-26: "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you." And Haggai 2:9: "The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of Hosts." God's promises are real. My standing years were hard, but my husband is going to heaven, so I would do it all again."
