The Standing Guide
How to Stand for Your Marriage Restoration
If your marriage is broken — even after separation, betrayal, or divorce — you are not without hope. This is a clear, biblical guide to what it means to stand in faith for the restoration of your marriage, and how to take your first steps today.
What does it mean to “stand” for your marriage?
To stand for your marriage is to take a faith position that your marriage willbe restored — to pray, declare God's promises over your spouse, and refuse to give up hope, even when everything you can see says it's over.
A stander isn't standing on their spouse's feelings, on a court date, or on the other person who may be in the picture. A stander is standing on God's revealed heart for covenant marriage— and on His power to do what no person can do. You can't change your spouse's heart. But God can soften any heart, and He invites you to agree with Him in faith and prayer until you see it.
Is restoration really possible — even after separation or divorce?
Yes. Nothing is impossible with God (Matthew 19:26). We have watched marriages come back to life after separation, after infidelity, and even after a divorce was final. The same God who breathes life into dry bones (Ezekiel 37) can breathe life into a marriage the world has already pronounced dead.
Standing doesn't deny the pain or pretend everything is fine. It simply refuses to let the circumstances have the final word — because God does.
How to begin standing for your marriage
Settle it in your heart
Decide that, with God's help, you are standing for the restoration of your marriage — not for divorce. This decision is the foundation everything else is built on.
Guard your own heart
You can only control one person in this — you. Forgive, refuse bitterness, and let God heal you so He can use you. Standing changes you long before it changes your spouse.
Pray and declare God's Word
Pray for your spouse instead of against them. Declare scriptures of restoration over your marriage daily — calling things that are not yet as though they were (Romans 4:17).
Release your spouse to God
Stop trying to fix, convince, or control your spouse. Your striving pushes them away; God's drawing brings them home. Let Him do the work only He can do.
Don't stand alone
Standing is hard, and the enemy isolates. Surround yourself with other standers, daily encouragement, and prayer — through our app, our community, and the Standing World Map.

We don't just talk about restoration — we lived it
Our own marriage ended in divorce. By every visible measure, it was over. But God restored it — and that restoration became the calling of our lives. Everything we teach, we teach because we watched God do the impossible in our own home, and we have since walked thousands of standers through the same journey.
If you're just beginning, the best place to start is to watch our story and the foundational teachings — they'll ground your stand and show you what God can do.
