Jena & Rich
Zimmerman, Minnesota
"I am Jena and my husband is Rich. Our relationship began at the ages of 13 and 14. We married in 1993 when we were 19 and 20. We had three sons by 1998. Our storm began in 2007 with broken trust that escalated into an affair with a family friend that lasted over two years. Our sons became aware of the storm. The Lord held me tight and impressed upon me to not divorce but to fight for the marriage. In 2013, another at-work affair began, which I quickly discovered. We separated for a month. I had believed it ended quickly but in 2015, I discovered it had not. Rich and I separated in 2016, then reconciled less than six months later. I discovered the affair was continuing in 2019 when he moved in with the other woman. Three months later, we reconciled until February of 2021, when we separated again for what I thought would be the last time as we got him his own place. In September 2022, we reconciled and are now in full restoration. July 2023, the Lord laid on my heart that 'THE storm is over,' and now we just had some messes to finish cleaning up. We had over 60 discovery days (days of finding out about an affair/the continuation of an affair) with the subsequent restart. I call them restarts instead of false starts, as each restart has led us closer to our destination. In 2018, the Lord spoke to me clearly, showing me I would not divorce but I was to stay and fight the enemy. The stand became an act of love and obedience. Many times, I 'felt' like giving up the stand but each time, the Lord poured more into me to persevere. All the while, God was working on my husband. I have a wonderful husband (and always have)... but Rich got lost for a little while. This stand paved the way for me to become more of the woman (wife) that God purposed me to be. My relationship with Jesus is vastly different than it was; I think more with a kingdom mindset. I have literally done almost everything a person shouldn't do while standing. Then I started doing it God's way and truly letting go over and over. I wasn't the one rescuing my husband. God was. God restored my marriage - I choose to walk in obedience to HIM." Jena was a member of our 12-week e-course called "The Standing Supernaturally Academy." This 12-week course was designed to train those standing for their marriage to walk in supernatural hope, joy and power!
