"Hello, my name is Carrie and my husband's name is Patrick. At the time of my stand in 2020, Patrick and I had been together for 25 years and had 3 kids together. The day Patrick left me, I had no idea what was going on. He hadn't spoken to me in about a week. On January 28th he left without saying anything. This was three days after our 25th anniversary. I started my stand that day! I was standing for 8 months. The first 3 months my husband did not come around at all. He didn't answer my calls or my texts. He didn't even talk to our kids. He then slowly started coming around. He would call or text me on occasion. However, almost every day he would drop in to see the kids while I was at work. During my stand, I had a lot of anger towards him. Then, I was angry with God. Why wouldn't He just bring Patrick home? I knew He wanted our marriage to work, so why was He keeping Patrick away from me? I found the most help from people I had never met, men and women standing for their marriages, giving me encouragement, praying with me and helping me on my dark days! The day Patrick decided to come back home was a strange but happy day. Things between us were awkward. I had many questions. I wanted answers, but I was afraid to ask the questions. I wanted to ask if there was someone else. Is that why you were gone? I stayed silent for a while. I was just happy he was home. I still have questions. Maybe one day I will be brave enough to ask him all of them. I love my husband very much and I am grateful for my stand. There were days when I wanted to give up but I am so glad I didn't!! I learned a lot along the way. God did a lot of work on me while Patrick was gone. I thank God every day for the work He has done and is continuing to do in my marriage and in us as a couple. I just want to encourage you not to give up! God can and will restore your marriage."
