June 29 2026 Devotional: The Woman Will Return To The Man As You Stand For Marriage Restoration
“How long will you wander, unfaithful Daughter Israel? The Lord will create a new thing on earth—the woman will return to the man.” - Jeremiah 31:22 (NIV) Today, I want to speak to those feeling the weight of your spouse’s wandering and unfaithfulness. Here is a very direct verse to meditate on. Look at the powerful promise from Jeremiah 31:22: “How long will you wander, unfaithful Daughter Israel? The Lord will create a new thing on earth—the woman will return to the man.” Even when circumstances seem bleak, this verse offers a declarative promise from the Lord. It’s a reminder that no matter how far your spouse has strayed or how difficult the situation appears, God’s plan includes restoration. He is the God who creates new things, even in the midst of brokenness. Just like the nation of Israel, your spouse’s wandering is not beyond His reach, and unfaithfulness is not beyond His ability to transform. Something new is coming! It’s important to remind yourself that your spouse’s current actions do not negate God’s promises. While it may seem impossible for your wandering spouse to return, the Lord’s ways are higher than ours and even theirs. He can change hearts, heal wounds and lead your spouse back to a place of full reconciliation. Today, as you stand in faith, keep your focus on God’s ability to create a new thing in your marriage. This promise holds significance for both husbands and wives. If your husband has left, read Jeremiah 31:22 and know that the man (YOUR HUSBAND) will return to the woman (YOU). If your wife is the one who has strayed, read Jeremiah 31:22 and trust that the woman (YOUR WIFE) will return to the man (YOU). This promise is not just a wishful thought; I believe it’s a direct picture of what God has planned for your marriage. Wow! What a verse! I want you to cling to this verse in your moments of doubt. If your spouse wanders in ways you never expected, anchor yourself to this verse. If your spouse is unfaithful to the covenant and you can’t see how they will leave that other person and come back to you, then cling to this verse. If you need a new thing to be created in your relationship, cling to this verse! God sees the pain you’re enduring, the tears you’re shedding and the prayers you’re praying. Your faithfulness in standing for your marriage is not in vain; it aligns with God’s heart for redemption. Remember that God’s timing is perfect and His ways are sovereign. While waiting for your spouse’s return, focus on cultivating your own relationship with God. Allow Him to heal and transform you in the process. As you draw closer to Him, you become a vessel through which His love, grace and restoration can flow into your marriage. So, as you stand and believe in your spouse’s return, hold on to the powerful promise of Jeremiah 31:22. Regardless of the current circumstances, declare this truth over your marriage: “The woman will return to the man!”
